Behind the cameras

Specialized in Art Direction by EICTV - Escuela Internacional de Cine y TV de San Antonio de Los Baños - Cuba and a bachelor's degree in Performing Arts from the Federal University of Bahia, Fernanda is a multidisciplinary artist, who began her career only as an actress – an activity already twice awarded in national cinema at festivals in Paraná and São Paulo - and throughout her career she works with several artistic languages within the fields of Audiovisual and Performing Arts, receiving her first international award in Art Direction (Production Design) in Venezuela in 2018.

Her first contact with cinema was in 2004, as an actress in the film "A MÁQUINA", by João Falcão. Since then, he works constantly with Cinema, TV and Advertising. In 2009 he started to employ his Set experience in new departments and makes his first 1st Direction Assistance, in addition to Preparing and integrating the Cast of the pilot “PIETRA”, by Mariana Serrão. Along this path, Beling has been developing work in the Direction, Art, Casting, Production and Script departments, interspersing performances in front of and behind the camera.

Among the works carried out in various audiovisual segments, the following stand out: Art Direction and Costume Design, in the film "SARMAGA" by Jon Lewis, which received a Special Mention Award at the Five Continents International Film Festival Venezuela; the Art Coordination in the 1st phase of the soap opera "VELHO CHICO", directed by Luiz Fernando Carvalho for TV Globo; participation in international co-productions: “A PELADA”, by Damien Chemin (released in Belgium, Luxembourg and Brazil), where he acted as 1st Assistant Director and Casting; And “THE INVISIBLE COLLECTION”, by Bernard Attal as 1st Assistant Art Direction.

As a Producer, she worked in some jobs in Bahia for productions outside the state and the country, organizing infrastructure, logistics and filming for clients such as the multinational P&G, SCHIN and the TV channels SPORTV and PREMIERE.

In 2019, Fernanda worked intensively as an Assistant Director in the advertising market and as an actress in the feature film "Café, Pepê e Limão" and in the series "Balaclava", by Prime Box Brasil.

In the midst of the 2020 pandemic, in addition to writing two scripts (one of them, "Menarca", was selected for PanLab 2020 at the Panorama Coisa de Cinema festival), the artist created, directed, performed and directed the short film “Epitafio Brasileiro ”, which had its world premiere at the Terni Film Festival, in Italy. Fernanda started the year 2021 signing the Art Direction of the feature film “Antigona”, by Fabricio Bolivaira and is currently preparing to direct her first fiction short film.
